Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group is a great place to eat in Minneapolis. There is such a spirit of playfulness AND the food is delish! Craft cocktails and a beefed up Sky Bar menu feature fresh ingredients and unique flavor profiles. The Sky Bar is a gorgeous rooftop deck with modern funky decor and gives a great vantage for people watching.

Burger Jones – A Surly Movember

Tonight was Burger Jone’s Movember event at the Calhoun location. Benefiting prostate cancer, this event not only helped raise money for a good cause, but served humanity as well, by providing sexy mustaches to stare at all night…and FREE SURLY BEER!

The names of the different mustaches was so fun =)

Even the staff got into it!

One of the surly brewmasters showed everyone what REAL facial hair looks like as he discussed the intricacies of Surly.

Mozza Mia

Today I photographed Mozza Mia, inside and out.

I love these types of assignments because I get to show my love of architecture AND my love of food in the images. Mozza Mia is a pizzeria and mozzarella restaurant in the 50th and France neighborhood where they hand make their mozzarella daily and fire bake their pizzas. It is a very family friendly, relaxed space, yet the food is anything but ordinary. I came to photograph their private dining space as well as the dining room, and afterwards, I got to enjoy my very own caprese salad. You see, I feel that it is very important for me to blog the truth, and I must taste the food to blog about the restaurant, right? ; ) Well, I can certainly vouch that their mozzarella is amazing. And sitting in their outdoor space feels like a European sidewalk cafe on a warm summer night.

Pittsburgh Blue

Tonight, I photographed a VIP party at Pittsburgh Blue.

They were celebrating their success by honoring their most loyal clients with a party on the patio. The servers knew many of the attendees by name and there was such a great atmosphere of fun on such a gorgeous night! Besides fabulous food, guests were also treated to a variety of drinks with a base of DonQ Rum…and it didn’t hurt that the DonQ girls were serving these delicious drinks =) By the way, you should go to the DonQ website, there are some fun games on there!

I, for one, am looking forward to my next available Sunday I have so I can indulge at Pittsburgh Blue’s brunch. Having steak and eggs and a gourmet bloody Mary bar sounds heavenly! And for all you southern suburbanites, Pittsburgh Blue will be opening an Edina location later this year in the Galleria! Can’t wait!

Spring is Around the Corner

I have always loved eat at The Good Earth, so when the Edina location needed some images for their spring menu, I was very excited to join the team. They like natural light images full of texture and showing off the ingredients…my favorite way to photograph food. Here are a few detail shots, afterwards I was SO ready for spring! I can’t wait to sit on a patio and enjoy a tall glass of lemonade and one of these fresh dishes.
