Michael and Christine were married today! They were fortunate to have a beautiful blue sky and unseasonably warm weather for their big day, maybe it was a gift to all of the friends who came from California and Texas to be a part of the festivities (sorry it will be -40 tomorrow!).
Lace, candle light, and hints of sparkle made this winter wedding classic and lovely. Using vintage brooches, feathers, and even pinecones, Julia’s Blooms created beautiful arrangements for the day, and they went perfectly with the ladies’ fur wraps.
The ceremony took place at King of Kings Lutheran Church which was decorated in full Christmas glory for the holidays. One of the sweetest moments of the day was when Chris’ dad saw her all dolled up for the first time.
The ceremony was full of personal touches, from the music chosen (my favorite was an Avett Brothers song with the lyrics modified to fit the day) to the fact that Mike’s father was the officiant.
After the ceremony, we headed into St. Paul for pictures. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!
I love everything about this image =)
Seriously, this is one good lookin’ couple!
The guys look tough…
…but the gals look tougher.
While the wedding party took a break, we amped up the romance with a few more images of Mike and Chris.
We also did some modern portraits, which I just adore.
After pictures, we headed to Vadnais Heights Commons for the reception. The space has a simple clean design with large windows looking out on the snow. Chris’ grandpa created wood pieces to use with a mix of tall and low arrangements featuring delicate blooms and woodsy elements. The couple also used antique skis and snowshoes as well as vintage pictures of their family to add some personal touches to the fireplace. As guests walked into the reception, the hallway floor was covered with star gobos, and we got THIS picture, which I’m still doing a happy dance about!
The Deco Catering served an AMAZING dinner, seriously, one of my top five wedding dinners ever! And guests enjoyed lively speeches, an ice cream bar, home made cake pops and even a game of bean bag toss.
After the first dances, Events by MV mixed oldies and new tracks alike to appeal to this rambunctious group of dancers.
Oh, and this happened…
What a fabulous night!
Mike and Chris, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having us be a part of your day! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!!!
