Yesterday’s Day in the Life session might look like it took place over a couple days…but nope! This is how the weather is in Minnesota, lightning and downpours followed by an afternoon so hot you walk to the beach. And this is how this family is, impromptu and fun, from dance parties to puddle jumping.
Day in the Life sessions are fantastic. They are unscripted and raw. Documenting your family in a way that a portrait session just can’t. From the moments where mom wants a shower and no kids are allowed in her room…
…to when she opens the door and the boys pour in.
From REALLY not wanting to put on fireman boots…
…to wearing them proudly and playing in the rain.
Post rain walk, hot cocoa and some basement rowdy time was in order.
The twins are performing “Hey Jude”.
Nap time for the babies means the job of baking a Fathers Day cake gets to be a privilege just for the four year old…the amount of chocolate this little dude consumed was awe inspiring.
Waking up from naps, the family decided to walk to the lake for some beach time. Trying to get two 18 month olds and a 4 year old ready for a walk, especially when everyone has their own idea of where they want to be at the moment, is no easy task. These parents are pros, folks…
By the time we were done cooling off and walked back home, all the adults were exhausted. Penning the kids up in the backyard and ordering pizza was the best choice to get some down time.
And then the cutest part of the night, bed time. Fully of snuggles, naked baby butts, and the warm smell of lavender as quiet slips over the house.
These sessions are just my favorite thing in the world. I’m so grateful to the families who invite me into their homes for the day!!! Enjoy the sneak peek!!!
