Stop Motion Wedding Video
Ever since I took a media class in high school I have enjoyed stop motion videos. They are easy to do and are so fun!
We have wanted to do a stop motion wedding video for a few years now, but just haven’t had the time. Then along came Keith and Katrina who had a wedding that fit the bill AND they were willing to give us some extra time to experiment. The wedding party was fantastic, braving the cold and hearing me say, “just one more thing!” over and over.
Since we didn’t want to take up too much of Keith and Katrina’s day, we kept the actual stop motion portions fairly short and used mostly time lapse images to tell the story of the day. One of the hardest parts was to pick the music. Something upbeat and happy, about love, and that had a beat that worked with stop motion. Triple Scoop Music is a great resource to find music you can use legally in videos, and we found a great song to put the images to.
Now that we’ve tested the waters, we definitely want to start offering this add on option to our wedding packages! Contact Studio Laguna if you’d like more info on the a la carte menu of fantastic and never-ending items! ; )
So without further ado, Studio Laguna Photography presents their first ever stop motion wedding. Let us know what you think!
Pat on the Back
We love our job, we love weddings and we are proud of what we do, but we don’t brag very often. However, we are feeling very grateful for the amazing couples, families and companies we have worked with in 2011 and wanted to share a year in review with our blog readers!
Since most of our wedding and portrait inquiries are referral based (which was are so thankful for!) we wanted to try and expand our client base a bit. So our 2011 goal was to be seen more often. We participated in the Independent Wedding Association Fair in October and the Wedding Guys’ Unveiled show in November. Katrina has been staying active with the Fearless Photographers group and through those connections she was able to travel to Queretaro, Mexico, to learn and shoot alongside one of her favorite photographers, Fer Juaristi. She also traveled to New Orleans in November for the Fearless Conference to learn from some of the most amazing photographers working today. We have also designed and photographed a couple styled shoots this year, which allows us to go outside the box with design and work with our favorite wedding vendors.
We have also been published quite a few times this year! Rev Tomkin Coleman wrote a very sweet blog entry about working with us, and the following is a list of local, national and international wedding blogs that liked our work.
The Boho Wedding Blog – Kelly also featured one of our favorite weddings on the blog at the beginning of this year. We love Boho Weddings!
Studio Laguna has been published in print with both Minnesota Bride Magazine and MSP Weddings, it is such a rush to open a magazine and see your images! We were also featured on the Minnesota Bride Blog and another entry here, here, and here.
On top of the blog love, we have been very honored to have our work featured in the advertising and websites of fellow wedding vendors. Katrina photographed the base images used for Jessica’s Cakes awesome website and continues to work with her as often as possible (and eating her delicious desserts!) . Ashley Fox Designs also redesigned her website this year and chose many of our images in her portfolio. It is always a pleasure to photograph Ashely’s lovely arrangements. For the icing on the cake, Instant Request chose us as one of their preferred photographers! It is always a nice boost to the ego to have wedding vendors you admire think highly of your work, and we are so blessed to be in this community!
Ok, enough of the bragging. Time to put the humility hat back on =) We would be no where without our fabulous clients, all the thanks goes to you! Because we put much importance on our reputation, we would love if you would help us make it even better! Please take a few minutes to leave reviews of our work on Yelp, Wedding Wire, The Knot and especially Google. The more reviews we have help establish our credibility and gets our name higher up in google searches, so they are much appreciated.
Happy Holidays, and have a Festive Festivious!
2012 Friday Weddings
Studio Laguna feels extremely blessed to have our 2012 wedding season so full at this point in the year. We would like to announce that we will be taking very few Friday weddings this year. We want to be able to handle the amount of weddings we are shooting so we are able to give each couple stellar customer service. So if you have a Friday 2012 wedding, please be sure to talk to us earlier rather than later!
