Sunday Outing

I met a fabulous family Sunday morning for portraits. It was a glorious day and I just loved getting to know them!

These two sisters were full of energy and goofiness!

When I work with older kids, I love letting them pick how they want me to photograph them so I can really see who they are. These two girls loved the bridge and wanted to pose on the beams. And I so enjoy the images we created together. They were good little art directors.

After a few more pictures, I told the family we should create a portrait that represents their energy…and it worked out really well!

Autumn Love

This weekend I photographed a wonderful family. Gabe and Tyler sure have their hands full with this spirited bunch! We discovered a lovely patch of forest that showed off the autumn leaves and let the siblings play. Little T was shy until I was photographing one of her brothers, then she’d come right over and sit in their laps.

Could she be any cuter?

While the kids were running around, we managed to get a few of Tyler and Gabe on their own.

A gorgeous sunset through fall leaves makes such lovely images, that and a bribe for ice cream afterwards!

Minneapolis in the Fall

Yesterday was so gorgeous with a bright blue sky and trees starting to really show off their autumn colors. Ashley and her family were so sweet. These two little ones were adorable and we had a wonderful time playing in the leaves and soaking up the sunshine.

I just adore this one, it totally shows the dynamics of the day.

Such a pretty girl!

The one time we really got a smile out of this little guy was when big sister played a game with him. It was so sweet!

Playing in the Leaves

I had a portrait session today with a family that I’ve been watching grow up for years. From engagement right on to little Finn’s first birthday, I have been honored to document their milestones. Today, we had a fun family session in the leaves, starting at a local farm and ending on the side of the road, where we had the best color. I will put a family anywhere if the backdrop is awesome!

I adore this image, it shows the personalities and dynamic of the family.

Finn was interested in running away from the camera, playing with sticks, not looking at the camera, hanging upside down, and doing the exact opposite of what he was told…you know, typical 18 month old stuff. We pulled out every trick in the book, and got some really fun (albeit almost all action) shots. This little man was on the go!

YAY! Time to play in the leaves!

Autumn Portrait Session

Yesterday, I got to photograph a lovely family right before a lovely sunset. They had a great time walking through tall grasses, climbing trees, hugging, and joking around. Greta is such a beauty and I think she really liked exploring…she even helped me direct her parents when it was time for their portraits!
