We were in Chicago to get the shot we needed to create this image =) The rest of the Chicago engagement session will be up tomorrow!
Minnesota Twins Engagement Shoot
When I asked Heidi and David what they would like their engagement session to look like, it didn’t take much time for them to decide on wearing their Twins gear at Target Field. Since they are dedicated season ticket holders and are at games so often they even have a favorite root beer vendor, I figured this was a good way to reflect who they were as a couple.
Though we got a few stares for walking around in twins garb post-season, it was fun to shoot in Twins Plaza. David and Heidi are so easy going and happy to be together, they were a cinch to photograph. After the sun went down, they changed outfits and we did some fun night shots as well. It was quite chilly, but the images look so cool! Here are my favorites =)
Leavin’ on a Jet Plane
Stephanie and Matt had their engagement session today.
I really clicked with Stephanie right away, and during our emailing about the engagement shoot, decided that this couple needed a location that was unique and quirky, just like they are. I have wanted to shoot at Franconia Sculpture Park for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity…and of course Stephanie jumped at the chance.
We were blessed with gorgeous fall colors and a balmy evening…and one heck of a sunset, almost too much golden light!
It was so fun watching this couple interact. Matt is working across the country at the moment, and you can tell that he and Stephanie make every moment together count. Though I know you’re expecting me to write how sappy and romantic they were, they mostly laughed at each other and goofed off…which I enjoyed capturing on camera. There are a couple that I may blackmail them with later ; )
Matt and Stephanie, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to shoot with me, I had a blast. Here are my favorite images, enjoy!
Sweet Love
Chris and Stacy had their engagement session today.
We had a wonderful time getting to know each other better and taking a mix of sweet, traditional and candid images of their relationship. One of the biggest benefits of an engagement session is getting comfortable in front of the camera and having an experience to work off of for your wedding day. Chris and Stacy did just that and I think we had a good time doing it! We even had a totally unexpected moment when a photographer friend of mine spotted us shooting and came over to tease me, so fun =)
Here are my favorite images, enjoy!
Water and Fog
Today, Kacie and Jim had their engagement session.
These high school sweethearts have been dating for 12 years and are tying the knot in just two weeks in Duluth. I simply love Duluth, the beautiful scenery, laid back lifestyle, and cooler weather. Today, however, the weather decided to show us what she was made of. Earlier in the day it was simply gorgeous, but too bright for pictures, so we waited for the late afternoon. We started out on a train bridge near the couple’s house and Kacie impressed us all with how she walked the rails in her heels. We were also accompanied by Sierra, the four month old puppy, who was able to stay still long enough to pose for a couple pictures.
We noticed the sky was getting really overcast and hurried down to Park Point for more pictures, but within a half hour the entire city was engulfed in dense fog…you couldn’t even see the end of the pier! And, of course, since the fog was so bad, it took ships twice as long to go under the lift bridge, which I got stuck on the wrong way of TWICE! Then the misting rain started =) Throughout it all, Kacie and Jim were upbeat, and ready for anything…including running down to the bridge while we were stuck in traffic for an impromptu picture in the fog. Now THAT is how to make the most of whatever nature throws your way. Fabulous!
Here are my favorites, enjoy!
