I have known Kristel for years and was thrilled when she decided to run for Minneapolis city council. She has worked tirelessly for the northside, whether it is organizing community events or spreading the joys of living sustainably or just biking around the city she loves so much. I was honored to be asked to photograph her and we had a great time walking around Broadway Ave getting a variety of portraits. Upswing Creative

Photographing other creatives is always a joy, especially this group of folks! Upswing Creative is a marketing, content creating and branding company that I have worked with many times over the years. I love their premise, their quality and how much fun the staff have together. Creating images of the people and space of Upswing in a way that is as unique and creative as they are was a fantastic challenge and I really enjoy the images that came out of our session. If you’re ever in a need of some brand advice or a shot in the arm for your business, give these folks a holler!

Whenever I photograph businesses, I make sure to get a large variety of images for their use on social media in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Horror Rewind

Last week I had the honor of working with the brilliant minds behind the podcast “Horror Rewind“. They needed some up to date head shots for a couple big projects coming up and met me at the gloriously eclectic Aria in a snowstorm so we could spend the morning together.

Number one, these ladies can write and produce horror that leaves you shaking in your boots. They are true fans of the genre and know their stuff. Definitely give their podcast a listen.

Number two, they can ROCK the little black dress.

Since these images are to be used in a variety of ways, we wanted to have some very serious and some the show off their vibrant personalities. I think we knocked it out of the park!

D’Amico’s New Menu

I truly love photographing food. Some of my favorite images have come from collaborating with chefs and finding the right light to really make a dish look scrumptious. I love trying to find a story, a shape, a detail that will pull the viewer in and make them incredibly hungry. The foodie world is fast paced and edgy, which is how I love to work. So when D’Amico asked me to come photograph their new menu items, I jumped at the chance. This is the new generation of wedding meals, people…MAGNIFICENT. Here are a few of my favorites!

Cookie Cups – Opening Soon!

The people behind this darling store in Wayzata have been working for months taking a gutted storefront and turning into a fun place to get savory and sweet bites. The Cookies Cups is a woman-run small business with a delicious product, so I was of course honored to photograph the images for social media. On top of that, we got to work with the cutest kids! It was quite a rumpus, and I think the girls ate dozens of cookies…and I love the results. Check out my favorites!

Seriously, though, the outtakes are the BEST. PART.
