Rachel and Curtis were married today!
These two are such warm happy souls. Hard working, dedicated, ready to meet life head on. We have truly enjoyed getting to know them and were looking forward to their wedding day. The moment I heard the 80s rock pumping from the ladies’ dressing room of the St. Paul College Club I knew we were in for a party! Their day was non stop, full of laughter and smiles. Every aspect of the day had the touch of friend or family on it…from custom made ornaments as the party favor, to the decorations, to Rachel’s borrowed ear rings…a day intentionally designed to create memories and connection in every last detail.
Rachel feels a strong tie to classic romance. She chose a Victorian mansion for her venue, Tawneesh McGahee gave her a timeless look, and she wore a gorgeous vintage inspired gown from The Wedding Shoppe. Curtis went a few decades ahead to the 60s with his custom suit from Heimie’s Haberdashery. After a sweet first sight we headed outside for portraits with the wedding party.
We soaked up the sun for a while then headed inside to the library for some more pictures. Seriously, these two, the love between them is palpable.
Dramatic Victorian portraits? Check.
Cutest pup ever? Check. Mable also stole the show in Curtis and Rachel’s engagement session…what a doll!
The ceremony was officiated by a dear friend, and was full of purposeful words and classic music.
The vintage themes were evident throughout the reception, with an heirloom cake topper and family wedding pictures scattered throughout the space along with antique jewelry. After a delicious meal, and some sweet speeches, it was time for the dance. We met our new favorite band (seriously, they are AWESOME!), Riverside Hitmen, who started off the dance with an entertaining swing lesson and played everything from oldies to top 40. The dance floor was incredibly entertaining to watch with a group of people who clearly love to dance.
And to round off the night, more proof these two are stunners!
Curtis and Rachel, thank you SO MUCH for having us be a part of your day! We hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
