I have known Julia and Daryl for years, and have loved watching their family grow. With two adorable girls and a cooking blog, Girl Meets Kitchen, plus full time jobs, this family is on the go. But they always make sure to take time together. This family is the epitome of hospitality, with even the youngest asking if I wanted to stay for dinner. They are warm, and kind, and it was an honor to photograph them yesterday.
We did a mini Day in the Life session, with some portraits followed by spending a few hours photographing them in their natural habitat. These bubbly girls are always on the go! We wrangled them to sit on the front porch for a few portraits…
…this is when we entered the “you’re lions in the woods! pounce!” stage of portraits.
They call each other “sissy” how cute are they?!?!
These two lovebirds are pretty cute, too.
After portraits, it was time to warm up, get into comfy clothes and bake a cake for a birthday party the next day. Julia is an AMAZING cook, food and entertaining is her love language. A lively bustling kitchen is her happy place, and she and Daryl are starting the tradition early with their littles.
Then we entered the, “hey a guest is here so we can get away with things we normally can’t!” phase of the night…
…so it was time to read and slow down into the bedtime routine while mom got dinner in the oven.
