Loring Social Styled Shoot

A couple of weeks ago, I photographed the most complicated styled shoot in my career.  Michelle at Rudy’s Event Rentals had conceptualized a shoot at D’Amico Catering’s newest venue, Loring Social.  At the same time, I had been chatting with D’Amico about photographing all the nooks and crannies of their new space in a variety of looks.  So we decided, why not combine them!  In one day with the amazing D’Amico team we shot 3 different ceremony looks and a reception look in the front room and then a corporate, non wedding party and wedding reception in the back space.  It was crazy fun, and we had such an amazing roster of vendors on board.

The main focus of the day, however, was the wedding styled shoot.  We wanted to create something for today’s couple.  Something style savvy yet unpredictable, a design full of textures and color, that linked antique and industrial.

Michelle put together a gorgeous look using her newest collection of dishware, linens and glasses along with her lovely table and chairs.  Maven brought in stunning blooms and the finishing touches for our head table and fully designed the ceremony space.  Paper Think Ink created the chic menu and invitation suite (just wait until you see the felt envelopes farther down!) with the perfect balance of clean design and whimsy.  Avant Decor lined the windows of the ceremony space with delicate white sheers to create a soft romantic look to the space.

One of the best parts about Loring Social is the mixture of textured and shiny.  The front room of the space is light a bright white with marble, glossy chandeliers and crisp grey paint.  The back room is a complete contrast of artsy and worn.  It provides such fantastic ambiance!  Plus the venue’s caterer is D’Amico, so you know your guests will be pleased as punch.

Our lovely bride, Andrea, happened to have won Mrs. Minnesota that very weekend!  Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios gave Andrea a modern boho look which perfectly complimented the beautiful lacy gown from The White Room.  Maven’s lush bouquet completed the stylish look.  What I loved about the design that all the vendors put together was that it was unique in all its pairings.  Copper chargers, Italian patterned plates, blue goblets, rustic wood, metal chairs, lace, braids, cascading florals, print rugs, fur, linen, geometric shapes, watercolor, all shot in gorgeous light with an amazing backdrop.  It all tied together, it all clicked.  And it felt amazing to be a part of such creativity and talent.

Styled Shoots are such fantastic ways to flex your creative muscle and get to work with top notch vendors.  I was so blessed to work with such an amazing group of people!!!  Hopefully this shoot inspires you to think outside the box a bit!
