Yesterday a fantastic thing happened in Minneapolis. A community came together to celebrate friendship, enjoy the autumn weather, and eat lots and lots of PIE. Gatherhaus sponsored the event, and everything went so well!
We used hand made farm tables from Rudy’s Event Rentals, they were the perfect size, and nice and sturdy!
Everyone made their own pies, except for me 😉 I couldn’t resist getting some of Cocoa and Fig‘s Minnesota Pie on a Stick! Serving up their treats did all the guests the giant favor of not having to eat my baking 😉 Guests filled out a little sign for their pies, indicating gluten free or sugar free or vegan or paleo…since we all have a variety of dietary restrictions, it was neat to see all the variety provided!
This event was based on community. We all brought food to share, cleaned up after ourselves, and played with each others’ children. From vintage sheets as tablecloths, to heirloom quilts to keep us warm, to centerpieces picked from our gardens, this event was homespun, prudent, and local. Everything we love and value! This is what Gatherhaus is all about! We currently have our facebook page that is starting to grow, we would love for that to become a place where people can share and engage. Future events are coming, and will be announced there. A blog is also in the works!!! Join us on this journey =)

Katrina, you take such beautiful pictures. The afternoon/evening was such fun; it was a blessing to participate, to visit, to share food, to make new friendships and strengthen old ones. Thanks to you and Dani!
