Frank and Alison

Frank and Alison were married today!

They met and fell in love with downtown Minneapolis as the backdrop, so it was only fitting to have a wedding that showcased the city.  They chose a very mod color combination of kelly green, black and ivory, and kept things crisp and simple.

Every couple we photograph are excited to get married, but these two were EXCITED to get married!  Frank was almost (literally) knocked off his feet at the first sight…and from then on, it was all laughter and smiles with a lot of kissing in between.

The first sight took place at The Depot, so we did a few group shots in there as well before heading out into the heat.

Frank and Alison braved the elements so they could include the textures and colors of Minneapolis in their portraits…and I’m so glad they did!

After portraits, we headed to the Day Block Building to get ready for the ceremony…and had to use the fantastic back of the building for a few more images.

Once inside, we were able to see all the beautiful decor.  The day was designed by Encore Events who took the couple’s vision and made it a reality.  Teamed up with European Floral, they created a space that was elegant but with unexpected twists.  I really loved how vibrant the bouquet was, it was a lovely contrast to the simplicity of the rest of the decor.

The ceremony, led by Rev. Steve Valentine was sweet and touching…

…with a few laughs in there as well.

The ceremony and cocktail hour were followed by a delicious family style meal by Chowgirls Killer Catering.  And check out the CAKES from Angel Food Bakery!  They tasted as amazing as they looked.  The chocolate blackout was sinful.

By the time the sun set, Frank and Alison were ready to dance.  And dance they did!  The Inside Out Band was fabulous, and had the crowd dancing so hard that the floor was shaking!
