Austin and Jamie were married today!
Planning their wedding in just 3 months, these two put together a day that embraced their fun loving spirit. A morning wedding and brunch allowed for a full day of outdoor winter sports to be enjoyed on the lake. And what a gorgeous day! A bright sun, fresh snow, and not a lick of wind.
The morning started off with the ceremony at Christ Presbyterian and though it was bitterly cold, the wedding party braved a few outdoor pictures.

…the guys…well, nice try.
Jamie and Austin chose a woodsy wintry theme for their wedding, using red and white flowers, winter greens, pine cones and snow in their arrangements. The church fit into that aesthetic very well with a simple clean look. The sun streamed in for the ceremony and made everything feel bright and cheerful.
After the ceremony, Jamie threw on some boots and we headed out into the snow. Seriously, I just love winter weddings! The storm from a couple days ago left some trees frosted and we found a perfect location for portraits. What better place for pictures than a log cabin covered in icicles?!?!?!
Bayview Event Center was the perfect location for the reception. The giant stone fireplace and warm woods used as decor gave guests a cozy feeling, as did the mimosas and bloody marys that greeted them. Bagel bites, fresh fruit, parfaits, and pecan rolls were just the appetizers. Doesn’t it sound like heaven?
After a brunch that included all kinds of breakfast favorites, Jamie and Austin encouraged guests to change into their warmest winter clothes and head outside to Lake Minnetonka. Bayview had their Ice Village all ready, complete with an ice bar, delicious hot chocolate and fire pits for making s’mores. Outside, guests could play ice bowling, hockey, a couch pull (yep, a couch on skies pulled by a truck), and Johmar Farms took guests on sleigh rides. Geek side note: I asked the owner’s son if the sleigh was from 1890 or so and he said yes! Some people know their cars, I know my sleds 😉
Austin and Jamie, you couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! I hope you had such a fun time! Kudos to you for doing something out of the box for your wedding, people will be talking about this for years to come. Enjoy your sneak peek!
