George and Amy were married today!
Amy fully decided to embrace fall in the design of her wedding. She chose aubergine and rust orange for the color scheme, which went perfectly with the colors in the trees. With a very elegant look overall, she also threw in bits of whimsy, like the two little squirrels featured throughout the invitation suite, designed by her sister Mary. The ladies were all dolled up by Emily J. and her team, and rocked their boat neck pleated dresses. Deborah Scott Flowers created bouquets that fit the look of the day perfectly.
The ceremony took place at Lumen Christi and was a very special part of the day for George and Amy, full of lovely music and tearful vows. These two were so excited to be pronounced husband and wife!
After the ceremony, the wedding party were treated to quite the tour of St Paul. The first stop was very important, Jimmy Johns, then we were off to brave the elements and shoot at a couple of outdoor locations. Major props to Eclipse Limousine for making those tight turns and getting us where we needed to go! HUGE props to the wedding party for braving the cold, and especially Amy, she was such a trooper!
We made sure George and Amy did a lot of kissing so they’d keep warm ; )
This picture sums up their relationship so well!
Since the reception was at 317 on Rice Park, we also did a few group shots in the park before heading inside. By this point, everyone was pretty goofy, there was a lot of laughing (and a lot of shivering) but we survived!
Once pictures were done, we went inside to thaw. 317 was nice and cozy and was full of St Paul charm. There were little details everywhere you looked, and it was obvious how much time and thought Amy and George put into their day. And they made the very smart decision of having Lasting Impressions handle the logistics so they could relax and enjoy their hard work.
After a DELICIOUS meal and yummy cupcakes, it was time for the dance. I had been excited all day for this because you could feel the group’s energy building and knew they were going to blow the roof off the joint. George and Amy started things off with a very sweet first dance (I saw that tear, George!) and then the party started. I was so impressed with Dan from Instant Request. He took all of George and Amy’s song requests and created a seamless play list, moving across genres and generations so skillfully it kept people on the dance floor all night. And one of George’s sisters showed mad Gangnam Style on the dance floor!
George and Amy, it has been such a wonderful adventure getting to know the two of you! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for having us be a part of your day, and for being so willing to brave the cold to get some really great shots. I hope you love your sneak peek!
